- about 10-12 small golden delicious apples
- 1-2 tablespoons agave nectar
- cinnamon to taste
preheat oven to 350f°. peel, core and chop the apples into medium size chunks. spread apple chunks in single layer in 9x12 baking/casserole dishes (i used two for 12 apples). drizzle with agave and sprinkle with cinnamon, then gently toss so apples are evenly coated. bake the apples for about 15 minutes, turn once, and bake for 10-15 minutes more. pull out the dishes and let cool. i used a potato masher for one of the dishes, but then my arm got tired. so i used a magic bullet for the other half. makes about 2 pints.

Yummy:D That really looks delicious! I have a bunch of apples that I should use, but I never get around the using them! haha.
yeah! applesauce/butter/whatever looks great! and i also don't understand adding sugar to applesauce. apples are sweet! silliness.
that looks so yummy!!
Yum...and I love that the recipe uses agave nectar!
This sounds super yum! I'm with you on all the sugar - I love apple butter & sauce, but usually halve the sucre!
HOLY YUM perfection.
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your blog is great! I am adding you to my blog roll! :)
what a great idea! it almost looks like a roasting pan of potatoes if you look at it quickly! :)
hey i tagged you for a meme.
I should probably start thinking more like you on things like this. I've switched to evap cane juice and turbinado, but still...
ha! i had no idea i was starting so much internal turmoil with you by tagging you, buddy :)
you can do it in my comments if you want. or, you don't have to do it at all. but you could always post it, then post 2 recipes in the same post to make up for it as well. good luck deciding!
I pretty much do applesauce the same way, with no sugar at all. I like how we are both calorific minded :)
Your arm got tired? It's ok to switch hit ya know... :)
Sounds yummy! And so much easier than what I'd expect.
Thanks for the comment on my blog--love the look of your blog, and will add you to my Google Reader so I can keep up! :)
oooh this looks so good and so easy!
This looks so good and so easy to do. And so healthy!
Roasting anything definitely creates more intense flavors, so I could see this working really well with apples! I have to try this before they are out of season! Have you tried different types of apples?
Oh my, it sounds SO good!
I love the simplicity and use of agave nectar in this recipe...
very cool! I've never made my own apple butter but I love it.
It is totally amazing :)
That's a great idea! I should make them red with green swirls and package them all pretty. Great and inexpensive way to do gifts this year.
